What Is Behind the Israeli Pressure Networks in the European Parliament?

Despite Western newspapers promoting Qatari and Moroccan interference in the affairs of the European Parliament under Qatar Gate and Morocco Gate, an Israeli corruption scandal in the European Parliament is being covered up, represented by European agents working for the Israeli Occupation and glossing over its policies.

On February 2, 2023, the immunity of two deputies in the European Parliament was lifted due to what was said to be a bribery case related to Qatar and Morocco for influencing the European Parliament, according to the BBC.

The Italian MPs Andrea Cozzolino and the Belgian Marc Tarabella denied violating the law, and both Qatar and Morocco strongly denied their attempt to influence the representatives of the European Parliament, as well.

 

Israel Agents

On March 9, 2023, Orient XXI magazine, run by a group of journalists, academics, NGO activists, and former diplomats, published details of the recent Israeli scandal.

The scandal is that several disguised pro-Israeli pressure groups and Jewish organizations operating in Brussels are hiring European representatives for “Israel.”

The magazine (based in France) stated that the goal of these groups is to pass messages that contradict the official policy of the European Union, especially on settlements, as well as to promote normalization.

For this purpose, European representatives are being hosted in “Israel” and other regions free of charge to play roles as agents of the Israeli Occupation, defending it and promoting its practices.

Nathalie Janne, head of the Middle East and North Africa region at the National Center for Development Cooperation (CNCD) in Belgium, mentioned in the investigation that several Jewish organizations not included in the transparency record in the European Parliament attract European Parliament representatives to work for the Israeli Occupation.

She explained that these organizations do not have offices in Brussels, such as “Israel Allies Foundation.”

The head of the Israel Allies Foundation is Dave Weldon, who is a former congressman from the state of Florida, and heads an organization of evangelical Christians who prepare “Israel” to fulfill the prophecy of God to the Jewish people regarding the land of Israel,” according to their claim.

Nathalie Janne asked if the European Parliament will ever have the full courage to deal with Israeli influence within it in the same way it deals with rumors about the effects of Qatari and Moroccan influence.

She revealed that “Israel” is on top of the preferred destinations for members of the European Parliament and that, according to information gleaned from statements by members of the European Parliament, these three organizations have set six trips to “Israel” for MPs since October 2019.

Three of these trips are by the European Leadership Network (ELNET), two by the AJC Project Interchange, and one by B’nai B’rith, a Zionist organization founded in 1843 in New York.

Although these three organizations are formally independent from the Israeli government, they always defend their policies by following a Zionist agenda, and this is confirmed by the objectives published on their respective websites.

The European Leadership Network (ELNET) says it brings together leaders who believe in the importance of close relations between Europe and “Israel.”

The Transatlantic Institute, the European branch of the well-known American Jewish Committee (AJC), presents itself as the most important global organization for defending Jewish rights, combating anti-Semitism, and strengthening Israeli position in the world.

The AJC Interchange Project Branch sponsors trips across the Atlantic, especially for the institute.

B’nai B’rith also declares that it fights the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, Holocaust denial, and defends Israeli interests.”

The Orient XXI investigation revealed that 80 percent of right-wing conservative parliamentarians are members of the Friends of Israel group.

Nathalie Janne confirmed on Twitter that the European Parliament members who suffered with “Israel” as its agents had become in this way accomplices of the Israeli criminals themselves.

 

Financing and Bribery

On February 12, 2023, Le Soir Belgium newspaper also published details of these scandals, represented by “Israel” and Jewish organizations operating European representatives as agents of the Israeli Occupation, through bribes represented in trips and long stays for members of the European Parliament from a third party.

It pointed out that despite the media talking about what was called Qatar Gate and Morocco Gate, “Israel” was not highlighted, the “state” to which members of the European Parliament have traveled the most and has influence over the representatives of the European Parliament.

The newspaper analyzed 328 foreign trips by European Parliament representatives and revealed many surprises about the representatives’ travel to “Israel” and other fronts with Israeli support and funding as a form of bribery for this purpose.

It stated that among the 328 trips of European parliamentarians, “Israel” was the destination of 30 of them, and 115 nights were dedicated to members of the European Parliament in luxury hotels in “Israel.”

It explained that “Israel’s security” was the focus of all travel programs, and these “roving agents for Israel” visited the tunnels that Hezbollah had built on the northern border and the area bordering the Gaza Strip.

They also received information about the “Iranian threat or terrorist financing” and even visited the settlements, although they are occupied lands by the European Parliament, and did not say a word about “the issue of the security of the Palestinian people.”

They attended a dinner at the Psagot settlement, which exports wine to the European Union, and visited the industrial settlement of Barkan in the northern West Bank, whose economic development depends in part on its ability to export to European and American markets.

In the European Parliament, trips paid for by third parties must be announced and made public, so several journalists from Le Soir collected all the available data for analysis, and the Israeli agents were easily spotted.

The newspaper found that “Israel” is among the three main destinations for trips by members of the European Parliament at the invitation of external organizations, including three pro-“Israel” groups.

It said that these pro-“Israel” organizations active in Brussels, which handle the travel of MEPs, “have their own motives to support the Israeli government no matter what it does. They are guided by their national feelings.”

Among the members of the European Parliament who have been traveling to “Israel” regularly since 2019 are three: the Spanish Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White, the Swedish David Lega, who launched a network to support the Abraham Accords, and the Dutchman Bert-Jan Ruissen.

They are also members of the “Transatlantic Friends of Israel” group, created in 2019 by the Transatlantic Institute, the latter of which brings together 32 MEPs and is proud of its influence in the European Parliament.

These three deputies and others who have traveled to “Israel” defend positions in favor of the Israeli Occupation and its seizure of Palestine, which contradicts international law and the official policy of the European Union, particularly on illegal settlements.

Since the signing of the Abraham Accords, Israeli European agents have taken it upon themselves to promote it in all countries of the world through seminars and conferences, defending “Israel’s right” to exist and how some Arabs realized their mistake and normalized relations with the Israeli Occupation, and everyone should do that.

Regardless of whether it gives money to members of the European Parliament, there is ample evidence that “Israel” and its lobby groups are “buying influence in Brussels,” according to the magazine.

 

‘Israel’ Pays Their Bills

Electronic Intifada website published a report on February 17, 2023, where David Cronin explains further details about these “pro-Israel representatives” in the European Parliament and how the Israeli Occupation government paid the bills for hosting them.

He explained that “Israel” paid the hotel bills for Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, in Jerusalem in 2022.

On May 23, 2022, Roberta Metsola delivered a speech before the Israeli Knesset as President of the European Parliament. She stayed two nights at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. Her trip was clear support for the Israeli Occupation.

Cronin added that, after what was raised about Qatar Gate and Morocco Gate, the issue caused a headache for the Israeli lobby in the European Parliament, which feared that it would be exposed, especially since its flights and bills paid by “Israel” are registered in the European Parliament.

He stated that the Pressure for More Transparency campaign launched in the European Parliament endangered a new initiative by Israeli European agents that supports the Abraham Accords and normalization deals between “Israel” and many Arab countries.

He referred to the announcement of Roberta Metsola to attend the launching ceremony of the so-called Abraham Accords support network in February 2023, and then her reluctance for fear of being accused of lack of transparency and working for “Israel.”

He also pointed out that canceling participation in the concert in support of the Israeli Occupation was a setback for David Lega, the Swedish member of the European Parliament, who was appointed as the leader of this network that promotes the Abraham Accords by the European Leadership Network, a pro-Israeli group.

Lega has previously stated that the main goal of this network is to find new ways to get a majority within the European Parliament in favor of “Israel.”

David Cronin says that the implicit purpose of the Abraham Accords is to encourage arms sales between “Israel” and Arab countries and to plunder Palestinian rights.

Al-Estiklal has already revealed in detail the role of this Zionist lobby among British MPs in particular. Many facts indicate a significant penetration of “Israel” and its supporters into all British political forces. They sometimes seek to tame politicians, especially from the ruling party.

This does not mean that all European Parliament representatives support the Israeli Occupation, as there are representatives who contribute to exposing the practices of “Israel” and support the movement to boycott it.
