Here Are the Disastrous Effects of 'Renting Wombs' on the Children of the World

Being diagnosed with many diseases preventing them from giving birth to a baby, many women look for other pregnancy options. “Renting” a womb may be the most popular option for these desperate women who are willing to give anything to become mothers, although it could have disastrous effects on both mothers and children.
The operation needs two women, the biological mother and the surrogate mother so the future baby will have two mothers. However, no one knows who the real mother of this child is; they both helped in giving birth to this little creature. A fertilized egg of the biological mother is implemented in the surrogate mother’s womb to have a successful pregnancy. It seems complicated but this is the case with many babies in the World.
Christina Ozturk, a Russian woman topped the news in recent days after being awarded the title of the youngest mother in the World for giving birth to 22 babies despite her age. The 24-year-mother gave birth to her first child at the age of 17, and since then, she dreamed of having the biggest family in the World and the only solution for her was to give birth to many children.
Mother ‘Without Womb’
“I want to have 100 kids,” said Christina, a 24-year-old mother, the youngest mother in the World. She is fond of children, and she dreams of having the biggest family ever. In doing so Kristina gave birth to her first child at the age of 17, but in just 5 years the number of her family members expanded to become 24 including 22 children. How come?
This Russian millionaire who is just fond of babies lives in Georgia and is married to a 56-year-old man, a wealthy hotel owner, Galib Ozturk. “Owing to the couple's love of kids, she aims to have 100 more. She has already had 22 babies by surrogates, and gave birth to just one, normally. The couple hires about 16 nannies at home to help Christina look after the children.
“The mother says she has paid about $200,000 to surrogates to have her children, all of whom were born in a short period of time, less than 18 months.” The couple is willing to spend up to £800,000 on having 100 babies by surrogacy. Christina said on social media that she had dreamed of so many children since she was young, and her husband also dreamed of having a big and happy family.
In 2020, according to Fox News Today, Christina said, “At the moment, I have 22 children with the latest addition, Olivia, who arrived at the end of January 2021, I gave birth to my eldest daughter Vika myself six years ago. The rest of the children are genetically ours from my husband and I but were carried by surrogates.”
In February 2021, the mother had 11 children. The millionaire couple revealed on their social media account they want to have more and more children. “I don't know how many they will eventually be, but we certainly don't plan to stop at 10,” said the baby-mad mum. “We are just not ready to talk about the final number.” The family live in the coastal town of Batumi in Georgia where it is legal to use surrogate mothers in pregnancy, each of which cost around 8,000 euros. With money nothing is impossible, the couple can achieve the dream of creating the world’s largest family.
The video below was broadcast a year ago when Christina had 11 children.
Renting Wombs
With money you can be a mother; this is how women who cannot have children, become mothers of many children. Bringing kids is no longer difficult or impossible and many desperate women go for surrogacy as the best solution to have their own child. Actually, “surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman (the ‘surrogate’) agrees to be impregnated and carry a child for another couple or individual (the ‘commissioning parent(s)’ or ‘intended parent(s)’).”
Surrogacy can be conducted directly between the surrogate and intending parents, according to the Anti Trafficking Review website definition. “This kind of solution can be arranged via an agency or surrogacy clinic which can match the surrogates to intending parents.”
Surrogacy remains an ethically controversial issue as the pregnancy is done outside the traditional, heteronormative family setting. Actually, many countries like the UK, Greece and Georgia allow commercial surrogacy. This highly encourages their Peoples to take advantage of poor women, mothers or even single moms and rent their wombs.
On the other hand, many other countries, especially in the Arab World, strictly ban this immoral act as they describe it. For them, this commercial deal does not respect women’s bodies and affects their freedom and rights, which are supposed to be fully protected by local laws and international agreements, in addition to religious prevention.
However, in recent years, this phenomenon has spread in many Arab and Islamic countries despite its illegality. In doing so, supporters do research and try hard to find a way to make it legal.

Religion’s View
Although the Islamic Research Academy issued a decision prohibiting surrogacy.
Many people who support surrogacy do not give up attaining a legal agreement. This time Dar al-Iftaa definitely confirmed that surrogacy is forbidden and prohibited by Sharia. As explained by a video on its YouTube channel, it explained that in case of the existence of a third member other than the husband who owns the sperm and the wife who owns the egg, it is not possible to be certain to determine the real mother of this child.
According to Dar Al-Iftaa the child will certainly be confused and torn between two mothers, and this is one of the reasons that led jurists to believe that renting wombs is forbidden by Sharia.
In addition to law, Religion also thinks about surrogacy as a sort of trafficking, and it is necessary to guarantee children and women’s protection.
