The efforts of Western powers to promote and normalize homosexuality persist on multiple fronts, with the most dangerous being those directed at children and students, given the far-reaching negative consequences of such targeting.

These campaigns are not limited to countries that support homosexuality, such as France, Canada, and the United States, but extend to other countries, especially through their educational institutions and study missions.

In this regard, the Moroccan website Al3omk revealed the organization of a Canadian school in Casablanca, which included sections promoting homosexuality during an event marking the end of the 2022/2023 academic season.

Foreign Invasion

The website reported on August 21, 2023, that a group of foreign schools licensed in Morocco is teaching curricula that violate the Kingdom’s principles, particularly the promotion of homosexuality. This is happening despite modest correspondences with the ministry responsible for education and training, without any practical intervention on the ground.

It was also mentioned that complaints from parents and teachers about the content of these curricula imposed on their children have been growing. They say that these curricula disrupt family concepts and components and sometimes even undermine religious beliefs.

Approved educational curricula for Canadian institutions propagate content that influences student behavior, promoting homosexuality. This same content has also been identified in Spanish schools in Morocco.

The website revealed that it obtained images and videos from an event organized by a Canadian school attended by the Canadian embassy representative in Morocco and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui. The event featured sections promoting homosexuality.

Foreign Invasion

The same website reported that Spanish schools, during the early stages of students’ education, introduce family definition that contradicts Moroccan norms and is not in line with the country’s laws. In one lesson, it is stated that the family is not defined by its members but by the love that unites them.

The same lesson lists various types of families, including families without sons or daughters who make a decision to not have children, accompanied by an image of two girls. Another type is the compound family, defined as families that formed after the separation of the parents, with the children living with their mother and her partner or their father.

Regarding the artistic event at the Canadian school, the website disclosed that it included a performance in which children wore clothing with rainbow colors, with a backdrop on screens of a child walking on a path with the same colors.

Al3omk website emphasized that these schools deliberately incorporate homosexuality into the content of their subjects, especially in English language classes, considering it not a mere coincidence or fleeting occurrence but a deliberate semiotic curriculum.

According to sources within these institutions, the impact of this content has become evident in the behavior of many students. Some educational staff have complained about unethical behavior, including instances of hitting each other’s buttocks and removing trousers without reason, among other actions traceable to certain lessons taught.

Shocking Actions

From the perspective of educational and political activist Halima Chouika, “The issue of homosexuality, whether at the international or local level, is intriguing and requires attention and contemplation.”

Regarding our country, Chouika told Al-Estiklal that this issue “has begun to infiltrate schools and educational curricula, particularly in foreign schools, but it targets the children of Moroccan families among those it affects.”

She mentioned that “many parents who chose to have their children educated in these institutions were surprised by these curricula that promote homosexuality and attempt to instill these deviant ideas in children.”

Chouika cautioned that “what happened at the Canadian school in Casablanca involved direct and open promotion of these ideas, with the Canadian Ambassador and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation being invited to the event, which is shocking.

“The issue of deviation infiltrating educational schools takes very bold steps, as it is considered a human right and so on.”

Chouika emphasized that “the situation itself requires the Ministry of National Education to take the necessary actions and stop attempts to involve educational schools in promoting deviant ideas.

“The ministry has the legal authority to approve or reject these programs because these schools are part of the country’s educational system, even if they teach foreign curricula.

“The ministry must take the necessary measures and not remain neutral or passive,” Chouika said.

Party Response

Given its Islamic reference, it was not surprising that the Justice and Development Party (the opposition) quickly responded to what was reported on Al3omk Moroccan website.

The party published an article on its official website on August 24, 2023, criticizing the continuous targeting of Moroccan values and religious constants, whether by governmental entities or followers of external forces.

The party stated that “what is happening in the country contradicts and goes against what King Mohammed VI has emphasized in several speeches and messages, especially regarding the education and training system.

“The King stated in one of his speeches that our educational institutions should provide students with the best principles and values that make them proud of their identity, heritage, and our rich cultural values.”

The party continued: “In contrast to these royal directives, it has reached the ears of the Moroccan public that a Canadian educational institution organized an event promoting homosexuality in Casablanca, and children participated in its sections. The Canadian ambassador and the Minister of Higher Education were invited, without any denial or comment from the latter, as reported by Al3omk Moroccan website.”

Regarding the role of the government authority responsible for education, it is “modest and almost absent,” as it only issues some memoranda and speeches without any impact on the ground.

Among these instances is what was reported by the local Al-Islah website on July 26, 2023, when the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports circulated a ministerial memorandum to the directors of regional academies of education and training regarding the respect for national and religious constants and values in the programs adopted by educational institutions that offer foreign educational programs.

The ministry cautioned that, as part of its monitoring and follow-up operations, it became apparent that some contents of textbooks used by certain educational institutions offering foreign educational programs “do not respect the sanctity of our country’s national and religious constants and values.”

The ministry called for “taking the necessary measures to ensure the strict and continuous compliance of educational institutions offering foreign educational programs, within their curricula and textbooks, with respect for the national and religious constants rooted in the moderate Islamic religion.”

The ministry also emphasized “the need to adhere to the contents of the agreements under which foreign educational programs are offered,” urging “the necessary vigilance and the implementation of educational and administrative monitoring mechanisms.”

Horrible Exploitation

This government directive comes in the wake of a scandal related to the teaching of students in a school affiliated with the French mission in the city of Kenitra near the capital Rabat about homosexuality, as well as the dissemination of derogatory ideas about Islamic figures.

The local website Hespress reported on April 3, 2023, that the details of the case, as described by lawyer Abdel-Rahim al-Jami’i, who represents the parents of two complaining students, emerged when the students began asking their parents about the meanings of what they were being taught by one of the female teachers.

The parents of the students sent letters to the administration of the relevant institution in question and held meetings with its officials in order to urge them to take the necessary action regarding the concerned teacher.

However, the administration did not take any concrete action other than promising to supervise the teacher, which prompted the parents to resort to legal procedures.

Al-Jami’i explained that “written certificates are available from the parents of the students in which they expressed their desire to settle the matter without resorting to legal action, but the lack of a serious response from the administration of the mentioned educational institution forced them to take legal action.”

According to the same source, the police and the public prosecutor’s office have initiated an investigation into the matter, but so far, there have been no results.

According to the lawyer representing the parents of two students, the parents considered teaching their children about the mentioned topics as a serious assault on the children, affecting their cultural identity, social environment, and psychological stability.

He pointed out that these subjects are not suitable for the children’s age or their mental capacity as they are unable to discuss their meanings, comprehend their dimensions, and express opinions about them, especially given that their ages are below ten years.

In a statement he issued, al-Jami’i stated that teaching students about homosexuality and disseminating derogatory ideas about Islam constitutes a heinous exploitation of the children’s innocence, a manipulation of their future, a crime against them, and an educational deviation from the teacher toward children who need appropriate care.

He said that the public prosecutor’s office “has not firmly intervened in this case, which worries families, parents, and public opinion.”

Required Role

Regarding this matter, the educational and political activist Halima Chouika said, “Ideas related to homosexuality, according to several researchers who have studied these phenomena in the West, are not related to gender or the freedom to practice it, but rather to a materialistic view of the world.”

She explained to Al-Estiklal that “this has caused Western societies, which follow this perspective, to transition from moral decay and sexual permissiveness to homosexuality.

“This transformation, which was expected in Western societies, is very dangerous if attempted to be incubated within our societies, threatening social cohesion and values.”

The speaker emphasized that “transferring these ideas into Moroccan culture is a real threat to our values, the family system, and consequently the cohesion upon which the state and society are built.

“The dangers of promoting homosexuality in the West are not hidden from anyone who follows them, as a group of children who were adopted by same-sex families, whether male or female, suffer greatly on psychological and identity levels.”

She added, “This highlights the catastrophic results of spreading homosexuality and making it a reality in the West, which often leads to mental illnesses, crimes, and more.”

Today, to confront homosexuality and protect our families and children, Chouika says there are two levels to consider: one at the state level and the other at the level of families and society.

She clarified that, at the official level, the state must play its role in this regard and prevent the promotion of such ideas, especially within educational institutions.

Chouika pointed out that while some may view sexual practices as falling within the realm of individual freedom, it is unacceptable in the public sphere or to promote it in any form.

Therefore, she emphasizes that “the state must deal with it decisively and enact immediate legislative measures to prevent it.”

On the second level, Chouika said, “The responsibility falls on the families of the children attending these institutions, and they should take practical steps to address it rather than waiting for official action.”

She elaborates that this issue is culturally and socially linked and has a connection to our values and heritage. Therefore, it is an area where families and civil society have a vital and fundamental role to play in countering these dangerous ideas that threaten the Moroccan social fabric and its values.
