By all means, homosexual advocates are taking advantage of their deviant behavior, directly or indirectly, in a battle that faces strong resistance within Arab and Islamic countries and in other societies, including Morocco.

The danger of these campaigns increases when they target the younger generations, in light of the lack of knowledge of a large number of parents of some symbols of LGBTQ propaganda, such as their colors, for example, which include 6 parts colored in the colors of the spectrum, red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and violet.

These campaigns attempt to circumvent the law, which criminalizes promoting homosexuality, as Article 489 of the Moroccan Criminal Code criminalizes any sexual act with a person of the same sex and punishes it by imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years and a fine ranging from 120 to 1200 Moroccan dirhams, or about 120 dollars.

However, the authorities do not show firmness in combating the phenomenon, including allowing the screening of the Disney movie The Guardian of the Space in cinemas in Morocco, on June 20, 2022, at a time when most Arab countries banned it because of its promotion of homosexuality.

This permission was a surprise for society, especially since more than 420 Moroccan personalities, including politicians, academics, advocates, doctors, writers, and artists, signed a petition calling for the film to be stopped, given its incitement to homosexuality.

In recent years, some Moroccan homosexuals appeared through electronic media and social media, who spoke openly about the reasons for their entry into the world of homosexuality in an attempt to elicit sympathy, solidarity, or understanding, without any movement from the authorities, especially since some of them talked about sexual experiences with public or well-known personalities.

LGBTQ Colors

In preparation for the new school season 2022/2023, Moroccan families began acquiring educational tools, many of which were in the colors of the gay flag, amid warnings issued by citizens and actors in the educational field of the danger of normalization with the culture of homosexuality, calling on families and parents of students to be aware of the meaning of these colors, their implications and impact on young people.

Including an alert shared by the fan page of the preacher Yassine el-Amri, amid a great interaction of fans of this famous Moroccan preacher through social media, especially among young people, and his alert was widely shared.

In the same direction, citizen Achraf Sbai warned against the normalization of these colors and the culture of homosexuality, saying in a post on Facebook on August 30, 2022: "Coinciding with school entry, we warn your children, friends, and students, in particular, be aware of normalization with homosexuality…There is no power but with God, the Most High, the Great."

In turn, activist Majda Jad published pictures of some of these materials, as well as an advertisement for school tools bearing the colors of homosexuals, with a message warning of their danger.

In a Facebook post, Jad warned on August 31, 2022, "all respected mothers who are fighting for their children, warn your children and friends and warn each other and especially your students."

She added: "We are an Islamic nation, stay away from these school tools that bear the colors of homosexuality, as the matter has become very dangerous in our Arab Muslim society."

Al-Estiklal tried to contact the official spokesman for the government of Aziz Akhannouch to comment on the matter, but his phone kept ringing without an answer, and he did not respond to text messages sent to him directly and to his advisors.

Pedagogical Approach

The former member of the Education, Culture and Communication Committee in the House of Representatives, Rachid el-Kabil, confirmed that publishing school tools in LGBTQ colors is "totally and completely rejected."

El-Kabil told Al-Estiklal, "The danger of LGBTQ tendencies was and still continues, and therefore the Holy Qur'an warned against this deviant behavior and gave it great care and attention in a number of its verses."

He stressed that if this abnormal behavior is left without confrontation, it will sweep the public space. LGBTQ promoters will not stop at demanding freedom but rather equality with the normal behaviors.

He pointed out that "this reality is experienced by some European countries, where homosexuals have begun to take over the public space, not just the private one."

He warned against "a reversal of scales when these colors are accepted and normalized with their connotations," calling on the state to intervene.

He stressed that "the responsibility for dealing with this file is shared between government agencies, parents' associations, parents' associations, scholars' bodies, and society as a whole."

He continued: "All of them have to intervene, each according to the legal, moral and social responsibilities entrusted to him, to besiege this imminent danger, now and in the future."

For his part, Pedagogical Professor Abdelwahab Shaimi believes that publishing these materials is an "intentional trend in order to spread homosexuality among young people, adding that "there is an attack launched by lobbies that aim to spread  homosexuality among societies."

Shaimi continued to the Akhbarona website on August 31 that this targeting is not limited to the educational field only but was preceded by the fields of sports, culture, and media by displaying international advertisements that include the colors of the rainbow.

He called for "avoiding any drawings or suggestions of sexual orientation, especially since the targets of them are children of younger age who do not distinguish between good and bad."

Shaimi explained that "the officials in charge of the education sector do not live on an isolated island, but rather they know what is happening, and therefore they have accepted to spread this scourge that threatens societies."

He concluded by saying: "We are not against the openness of educated people to different colors, but rather we fear that normalization with homosexuality will take place in the future."
