Amid escalating unrest in Yemen's southern cities, Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen’s internationally recognized PLC, called for a conference in Riyadh to defuse the crisis, inviting all southern forces, including the UAE-backed separatist STC militia.

The UAE has used Libya’s Kufra airport to supply Hemedti’s Rapid Support Forces militia, fueling their gains in Sudan while advancing its regional interests.

Egypt has set “red lines” over Sudan, warning the Rapid Support Forces militia and the UAE, and signaling possible military action under its joint defense agreement to protect its security and regional stability.

The fall of al-Fashir, the last stronghold of Sudan’s army in the Darfur region, after nearly two years under siege by the UAE-backed RSF, marks a major turning point in Sudan’s war that began in April 2023.

Backed by regional support, the RSF militia now uses advanced drones to strike targets and consolidate control, especially in Darfur.
