The FBI agents on August 8 took the unprecedented move of executing a search warrant at the home of former president Donald Trump to seize top-secret documents.

NBC News revealed that in the Mar-a-Lago room, some of the boxes contained documents with sensitive materials that the federal government appears to consider so important to national security.

NBC News added: "The records comprised 11 sets of classified documents, including some that were labeled secret and top secret, according to a property receipt from the search."

Secret Meeting

Judicial documents revealed that FBI agents found a number of "highly classified documents" during a raid on former President Donald Trump's home in Florida.

The operation was the last link in a series of accusations of recklessness and violating confidential information even while he was in power before losing the presidential elections in late 2020 against his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.

Of the striking secrets revealed by the documents was Trump's secret meeting with Russian officials. The documents also exposed Trump's suspicious relations with Israeli intelligence.

On May 10, 2017, Trump met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at the White House.

During the meeting, Trump informed the two Russian officials of intelligence the United States received from an ally in the Middle East about a plan for the Islamic State.

It turned out that the secret intelligence information was from "Israel," which was annoyed by Trump's disclosure, according to information published by the media.

At the same time, Trump concealed intelligence information from the directors of his country's intelligence services.

In July 2018, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats made no secret of his surprise at the Aspen Security Forum when the presenter leading the conversation told him that the White House had tweeted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had received an invitation to visit Washington.

Coats stated that he was not informed of the substance of a two-hour discussion between Trump and the Russian president three days before that and said, "I don't know what happened in that meeting."

Usurpation of Palestinian Territories

The Jerusalem Post revealed on August 14, 2022, a letter in which former US President Donald Trump authorized former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex parts of the West Bank and apply Israeli sovereignty over them in a three-page letter dated January 26, 2020, two days before Trump presented his vision for peace at the White House.

The Jerusalem Post summarized some of the letter's details, including that Israel would be able to extend its sovereignty over parts of the West Bank, as specified in the map included in the plan, If the then Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, agrees to a Palestinian state in the remaining territories on that map.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Trump asked Netanyahu to adopt the policies outlined in the Vision for Peace with respect to West Bank territories that are designated as part of a future Palestinian state.

The former US president emphasized that in exchange for the Israeli implementation of these policies and the adoption of formally detailed regional plans that do not contradict the conceptual map attached to his vision, the United States will recognize Israeli sovereignty in those areas of the West Bank that its vision envisions are part of Israel. The letter outlined a timetable for recognition of sovereignty.

The newspaper pointed out that Netanyahu's response stated, "Israel will move forward with its sovereignty plans in the coming days."

A source in the Trump administration added: "It was very clear that this was a key element."

Trump said in his message: "The United States will recognize Israeli sovereignty over the land that my vision stipulates to be part of the State of Israel. This is very important," noting that "Israel and the United States will work together to transform the conceptual map into a more detailed and calibrated presentation so that recognition can be achieved immediately."

Trump added that he would also work to establish contiguous territory within the future Palestinian state until the conditions for statehood are met, including the unequivocal rejection of terrorism.

Netanyahu, for his part, publicly agreed to the creation of a Palestinian state under the terms set by the Trump plan.

He said, "You recognize Israel's sovereignty over all settlements in the West Bank, large and small alike…Mr. President [Trump], because of this historic recognition, and because I believe your peace plan strikes the right balance where other plans have failed, we have agreed to negotiate with the Palestinians based on your peace plan."

The Israeli prime minister also said at the time that he "looks forward to working with you to achieve a peace that protects Israel's security, provides the Palestinians with dignity and national life, and improves Israel's relations with the Arab world."

Immediately after the letter, Netanyahu made it clear that he would submit the application of Israeli sovereignty to parts of the West Bank to the cabinet for a vote the following week.

Republicans Reaction

The Republican Florida senator Rick Scott compared the FBI investigation to Nazi Germany's secret police.

However, the Guardian stated that a handful of Republican governors had criticized the "outrageous rhetoric" of their party colleagues in the US Congress.

Former US President Donald Trump has called on the FBI to return secret documents seized from Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

The unsealed search warrant revealed that FBI agents were allowed to seize any documents or records that are classified or related to the transfer of national defense information or classified material as part of the FBI's investigation into whether Trump violated the Espionage Act and other federal laws by keeping records in a resort in Florida.

Trump defended himself by saying that he declassified those documents and that the president's executive privilege allows some communications between authorities to be kept private.
