Scotland's leader Humza Yousaf faces a battle over his political future after he ended his three-year power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens following a row over climate change and gender identity.

Scotland's First Minister Yousaf is facing increasing crises within his party, which observers see as being in a state of complete collapse, especially with police investigations into possible financial irregularities in the party.

Humza Yousaf, 37, has become the first Muslim to lead Scotland as its First Minister after being elected by members of the ruling Scottish National Party on March 27, 2023, following a two-week vote.

The UK is now ruled by the descendants of its former colonies, from India Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman and from Pakistan Humza Yousaf, Sadiq Khan and Anas Sarwar.

In a result that laid bare the huge divisions in the party following a fractious campaign, Humza Yousaf defeated Kate Forbes and Ash Regan.
