Israeli military intelligence accused Iran of bringing in thousands of drones carrying explosives and an extended flight range into the Middle East.

The Hebrew "Walla" website quoted members of the search unit of "Aman" claiming that the Islamic Resistance Movements "Hamas" and Islamic Jihad are conducting "secret activities and training" in Iran.

The website mentioned that the Houthi militia launched an attack with the help of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on two oil fields belonging to Saudi Aramco, one of the largest international oil companies, on September 14, 2019.

Project Development

The most prominent weapon used in the attack was drones carrying explosive materials made by Iran.

The quality of the drones and the manner in which the attack was carried out stunned the intelligence services in Israel and the West, which "sounded all the alarm bells."

The Walla website pointed out that the tireless efforts to gather intelligence by the Israeli Unit 8200, and the qualitative analysis conducted by the "Aman" Division, revealed during the year 2020 a clear Iranian strategy.

The strategy is to intensify the project to develop and manufacture drones in Iran, and encourage the transfer of parts and parts of them to other places.

The website added that Tehran is "working to train terrorist organizations in the Middle East including Hezbollah, Iranian militias in Syria and Iraq, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hamas in the Gaza Strip," according to what it claimed.

In some Iranian hot spots, Iranian forces are training militias to operate drones.

In Yemen, the Houthis turned to the production of drones with the help of the Revolutionary Guards, according to the site.

High-Precision Missiles

The military analyst at the Hebrew website, Amir Bukhbut, believes that the Israeli Air Force has absorbed the magnitude of the threat that was revealed with the help of "Aman" and the intelligence services in Israel.

Boukhbut pointed out that Israel has begun to develop a targeted and practical technological response for Iranian-made drones, which can take off at long distances of up to 2,000 km with the asbility to deceive the detection and warning system and then attack with explosives.

Because of the navigational capabilities of Iranian drones and their capacity to carry tens of kilograms of explosives, the Israeli army likens them to precision missiles.

Iran's first attempts to acquire drones date back to after the revolution during the Iran-Iraq War.

The Quds Organization for Aerospace Industries of the Revolutionary Guard was established in 1985, and one of its most important products was the "Muhajir 1" drone during the war.

Since then, Iran has succeeded in producing unmanned aircraft with various capabilities, including the Talash, Ababil, Saeqah, Yasir and Simorgh aircraft.

The most famous Iranian drones that have been revealed so far are Karrar, Shahed 129, Fotros, Mohajer 6, Simorgh, Kaman 22, and Gaza.
