In recent months, there has been a growing call to boycott the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to allegations of its indirect support for the Israeli occupation’s military war crimes in Gaza.

The Western plan to seize frozen Russian assets for Ukraine has alarmed Gulf states, with Saudi Arabia hinting it would withdraw assets and sell European debt if the G7 proceeds.

The UAE's involvement in defending “Israel” against the genocide in Gaza and demonizing Western protesters, whether in universities or on the streets, as extremists driven by radical Islamists, fits into its longstanding campaign against Islamic movements.

Despite being one of the Gulf countries' main adversaries, the UAE has not refrained from holding meetings with Lebanon's Hezbollah in Abu Dhabi to normalize relations.

Lebanon takes first steps toward oil and gas exploration in its waters as part of the maritime border demarcation agreement with “Israel,” signed in 2022.
