Sudanese refugees in Chad face a deepening crisis of hunger, disease, and insecurity, as thousands, mostly women and children, struggle to survive in overcrowded camps with little aid and no protection.

In some camps called “widow camps,” children have been found neglected, abused and forced to work while their mothers being psychologically tired.
