A Russian newspaper reported on the EU's actions towards the Corona epidemic in what it called the "fourth wave", the Covid-19 passport and also the new Delta variant strain.

At the beginning of July, the European Union began operating Covid-19 passports containing data on coronavirus vaccination, past infection or negative PCR testing, the Russianskaya Gazeta newspaper reported in an article by Yuri Kogalov.

Corona Passport

Currently, EU countries have already issued some 300 million documents relating to the passport mentioned to their citizens.

Although it was initially planned that Covid-19 passports would only help when crossing the country's borders, the authorities of many countries adapted them for use on their territory.

Therefore, a certificate is required to visit cinemas in France, museums in Austria, swimming pools in Italy, and hotel accommodation in Portugal.

In Greece, restaurants are divided into three categories: some only accept people vaccinated; others also serve customers who have received negative PCR tests.

Others continue to ensure that all their workers have already been vaccinated against Covid.

In Romania, the ability of cultural institutions and gyms depends on whether people visit them with vaccination certificates.

This document in Croatia determines the number of guests who can attend the wedding. In Denmark, it is impossible to attend a football match with more than 2,000 spectators without a Covid-19 passport.

It is also generally impossible to enter Malta without this document.

Yuri Kogalov commented that in any case, in everyday life, the new document is used in 21 of the 27 EU countries.

At the same time, the Covid-19 passport system also operates in Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Vatican.

European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders said: "We are taking steps to adopt certificates issued by other countries, although they must be compatible with the EU system and allow for verification of their validity, validity and integrity."

Vaccination against corona virus should not be a prerequisite for travel to other countries, WHO official representative Tarek Yasharevich said in a brief statement from Geneva.

Preventive Effect

The Russian Human Rights Organization has made it clear that the preventive impact of vaccination decreases over time.

Besides, the delta variant strain, which today causes seven out of 10 cases of the disease, is more contagious and leads to a more dangerous pathway than COVID-19 in young people.

That's why recommendations for the prevention and treatment of Corona virus infection in Russia include a proposal to re-vaccinate within six months.

In the future, when the epidemic is finally defeated, it will be sufficient to take vaccination once a year, against influenza.

The author commented that the "incubation period for delta variant" was shorter than the normal Corona virus.

Unfortunately, Covid 19 is more acute, with moderate and sharp forms of the cycle prevailing in patients, and unaccompanied forms are often recorded.

Alexander Gurilov, deputy director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology at the Russian Human Rights Organization and a correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, explains that the treatment of these patients is more complex and lengthy.

The Russian human rights organization stressed that one of the most vulnerable groups now is the 14-29 age group.

Since this group of people lives the most active life in society, the risk of rapid spread of infection remains.

This means that it is necessary to vaccinate and re-vaccinate effectively. Many governments have the same attitude, according to the author.

In the United States, for example, they also announced the need for re-vaccination, in disagreement with the WHO, which called for sharing "third" doses with vaccine-deficient countries for the first vaccination campaign.

In Israel, re-vaccination is already under way: here they returned "green" passports, closed public spaces to non-vaccinated people, while at the same time inviting them to give a third booster injection.

Vaccine Integration

Another interesting news is the results of the joint use of Russia's Sputnik Light vaccine with three foreign drugs - AstraZeneca, Sinofarm and Moderna.

The Introduction of two doses of "cocktail" of Russian vaccine in addition to one of the three foreign vaccines is safe and effective, according to a study conducted in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires.

The same research is now being conducted in Russia with AstraZeneca.

Some scientists believe that the principle of heterogeneous reinforcement (using a combination of vaccines) leads to an enhanced immune response and better protects against changing coronary virus strains.

According to an article in the Russian newspaper Russkaya Gazeta, as expert Alexander Ginsberg explained, the use of a variety of vaccines to protect against a number of dangerous viruses, such as polio, has proved effective.

In this case, the vaccination schedule includes citizens taking the fully and gradually emerging vaccine, and as part of the treatment plan they will take live vaccines after a while, as this combination causes a strong immune response.

It makes sense to expect the same effect with the gradual use of various vaccines against Covid, he says.

This is one of the most promising ways to support people with reliable protection against HIV, given the diversity of the epidemic, the emergence of new strains and the need for re-vaccination.

The combination of vaccines can expand the stock of antibodies after vaccination in an individual's body, which can give additional benefit if new strains exist.

In addition, combining vaccines will alleviate problems in producing large doses and improve the overall availability of the vaccine.

Of course, before such vaccines are widely adopted by stakeholders, clinical studies and evidence of the effectiveness and safety of such properties are necessary, the author said.
