Chinese government officials, under the directive of leader Xi Jinping, have intensified efforts to promote the Sinicization of Islam and exert stronger control over religious activities as part of a sweeping persecution campaign.

Chinese President Jinping, who has pursued sinister plans to erase the identity of the Uighur Muslims, openly stated in a speech delivered in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, that he would "continue to Sinicize Islam."

China’s Hui Muslims are facing a relentless campaign to erase their Islamic and ethnic identity by the authoritarian leader Xi Jinping, who seeks to impose a uniform Chinese character on all aspects of society.

Starting in 2014, a re-education system aimed at young Uyghurs in rural areas began to emerge as a concerning reality. Little did the people of that region foresee that within a span of merely three years, a staggering 1.5 million individuals would be labeled as untrustworthy and forcibly detained in camps.

In a move that sparked human rights and Islamic condemnation and anger, a delegation of Islamic scholars from the Arab repressive regimes visited Xinjiang.
