Turkiye is set for a runoff presidential election on May 28 after neither President Recep Tayyip Erdogan nor his challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu won more than half of votes on May 14.

The Western media is currently waging a fierce war against Turkish President Erdogan, portraying him as the dictator they seek to remove even though he came through free elections.

Nearly 5 million young people are expected to take part in Turkiye’s elections on May 14. Should the presidential vote stretch into a runoff on May 28, some 47,523 more citizens will become first-time voters.

Turkish citizens living abroad are heading to the polls from April 27 to May 9, with the diaspora community making up 5.3% — mostly in Europe — of all eligible voters.
