An investigation revealed a network of firms linked to a former leader in Israeli intelligence named (Tal Dilian) secretly exporting spy technology equipment from Europe to Africa.
There was illegal use of spyware in Poland, Hungary, Greece and Spain and suspicions about Cyprus, while other EU member states made it easy for the shady industry to operate.
